Conditional Use Permits (CUPs) are a multi-step process that involves careful review by the Zoning Commission and City Council, public hearings, and thorough research. These permits allow for land uses that may be compatible with existing zoning under specific conditions.
If you have questions about how CUPs work or whether your project might qualify, please get in touch with the City Office at 620-855-2215 and ask to speak with the Zoning Administrator.

In the month of September, Fire Department personnel will be conducting various processes to meet annual compliance requirements for the city’s fire hydrants. These will largely take place in the late evening and on weekends in an attempt to disrupt our citizens as little as possible. While the hydrants are being pressure tested and purged, you may see any of the following: large volumes of water in the gutters, temporary drops in water pressure, and/or slight discoloration of tap water. None of these are a reason to be concerned, but if these inconveniences last more than a day, please contact City Hall at 620-855-2215.

City Hall will be closed Monday, September 1st, 2025 in observance of Labor Day.

The Agenda for the 2026 Budget Hearing and 9/2/25 City Council Meeting is now available. Find it on Facebook or our website at https://www.cimarronks.org/page/council-agendas. As always, these meetings are open to the public.
