Cimarron Recycling Center

Opened in 1994, Cimarron's recycling Center collects disposable goods to be recycled, instead of being buried in the landfill.  An average of 70 tons per year is recycled.

Hazardous Waste should be taken to Gray County Public Works at 915 North Main in Cimarron.  This includes used oil, paint cans, chemicals, batteries, etc.

Compost Site is located 1/2 mile south and 1/2 mile east of the Main Street stop light.  The public is encouraged to bring grass, leaves and tree branches to the compost site.  leaves and grass are placed in wind rows, watered and turned periodically to create compost.  Tree limbs are chipped into wood mulch. 
Finished compost and wood chips can be picked up for public use.

Corrugated cardboard only.  Boxes may be flattened or left whole.  No cereal boxes, drink cartons, feed or seed sacks.
Computer and office papers.  Shredded paper should be bagged.  White or pastel only - NO bright colored paper, laminated or black.  NO carbon copies. 
All other colored #2 bottles.  Oil and chemical bottles must be triple rinsed.
Solid Colored Bottles:  --Red, Blue, Green, White, Orange, Yellow, Purple, etc.

Milk jugs or milk-colored drink bottles.  Please rinse and crush.
